THE MALT, CHEVALLIER, IS AN ENGLISH HERITAGE MALT COMMONLY USED DURING THE 1800'S AND NOW MAKING A COMEBACK. IT'S GREAT FOR THIS MALT FORWARD BEER WITH IT'S PRONOUNCED BISCUIT AND CRACKER AROMA AND FLAVOUR. THE US HOP, CHINOOK, ADDS PINE AND SPICE AROMAS THAT BALANCE UP WELL AGAINST THE MORE DOMINANT FLAVOURS OF CHEVALLIER.

14/12/2019. Cask at the Spread Eagle, Ipswich. Pours clear bright gold with a small bubbly white head. Aroma of citrus, grapefruit and flowers with light spicy and piney notes. Moderate sweetness and medium plus bitterness. Moderate body, oily texture, average to soft carbonation. Very nice bitterness to finish. Decent brew.
