Ursprünglich gedacht für die kalte Jahreszeit, erweist sich unser dunkles Sweet Stout auch als perfekter Begleiter für die dunklen Abend- und Nachtstunden – vor allem wenn die „Dark Side of the Day“ länger dauern darf oder soll.

From the label Reinterpreting international beer styles but adhering to the Reinheitsgebot. Which is as bollocks as the beer. German Einheitsgebot fits better. As with many German beers they have removed any flavour, edge or character in the name of so-called cleanness of taste. It's basically a boring black lager with a tiny amount of extra dark malts and sweetness. Avoid

Bottled 330ml. -from Schneider’s Getränkemarkt Cologne. Black coloured, minimal off-white head, caramel in the nose. Sweet malty, caramel, light dried fruits and touch of wood with rather sweet finish.

I’m not sure why the ratings are so horribly low here. The beer isnt super exciting. But it is clean and has a nice mild flavour to it. D&S Dresden (3.4 dec 2018) Again in craftbier shop advent. It’s thin and boring. But okay. Lowered to 3.3. (Dec 2020) Same place, raised to 3.4

0,33 l bottle. Not really black in the glass, reddish edges. Small fast fading beige head. Low choco and fruity smell. Taste starts with some choco and coffee, some dark berryfruits. Dry palate. Getting thinner in the second part. Higher carbonated than expected. Can not really convince.

Bottle, 0.33l. Deep ruby pour, one finger soapy beige head. Short lasting, minimal lacing. Nose quite ok, slightly roasty, raisins, caramel and subtle coffee in the background. Thin body, medium to high carbonation. Very light mouthfeel, quite watery palate. Roasty bittersweet taste with slight fruity tartness. Aroma feels watered down and subdued, way too thin for a stout. Caramel, coffee, plums and raisins. Some herbal notes. Medium dry finish, a touch peppery. Overall, average light stout. Lacking in body and character but still drinkable nonetheless.

Flaeschchen: Dark ruby-amber coloured, rather quickly collapsing loose off-white head; sweet nose of dark malt, dried dark berries and molasses with a slight alcoholic touch; moderate sweet and delicately bitter flavour, medium bodied and a bit sticky; sweet dark-malty and fruity finish with a mild bitterness in towards the very end. Not too bad...
