Belgian witbiers are one of the most approachable craft beer styles around. A traditional Belgian style in every sense, witbiers are brewed with copious amounts of raw wheat as a compliment to the malted barley for a biscuity bready backbone as well as orange peel and coriander for a spicy peppery citrusy earthy flavour that is at once both distinct and familiar. The beer is also traditionally unfiltered, with the haze that permeates it the result of both the poorly flocculating yeast strain as well as the suspended proteins caused by the use of so much and malted wheat.
Our version of this ancient classic ale like its mysterious namesake in the classic Fleetwood Mac song makes additional use of pomelo peel for a uniquely local citrusy zest as well as raw flaked oats for a smooth silky almost creamy body. Naturally crisp and peppery, citrusy and tart, but also smooth and delicate, Gold Dust Woman is a refreshing seasonal homage to the European ales of yore.

24/1/2020. Bottle from BEEReaucracy Bar, Davao City. Pours slightly hazy golden with an orange tint and a short lasting foamy white head. Aroma of wheat, orange, sweet malt, coriander, herb, yeast and a touch of pomelo. Medium sweetness and light bitterness with a slight tart edge. Moderate body, oily creamy texture, average carbonation. Sweet, oily finish. Nicely drinkable.
