Pelicon Imperial Stout is a time capsule of the notorious year 2020. As did many of us, the beer also spent the year 2020 in self-isolation namely in bourbon barrels.

25/2/2022. Bottle sample courtesy of MarkoNm, cheers. Pours black with a small bubbly beige head. Aroma is woody, quite intense bourbon, dark chocolate, roasted malt, dark fruits, touch of liquorice. Medium sweetness, moderate roasted bitterness, slight bourbon sour edge. Full bodied, slick, very soft carbonation. Warming bourbon finish, very nice.

Appearance - 10 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 10 | Overall - 8

Bottle. Pitch black, thing cream coloured head, nonlasting. Strong bourbon nose upfront, mild chocolate, cocoa, wood and roasted notes in the back. Sweeter start, chocolate and syrupy blackcurrant. Some bitterness and roastiness. No trace of alcohol, just a hint of warmth in the end. Medium body, silky. Great sipper.
