18/3/2022. Cask at the Malt Shovel Tavern, Northampton. Pours slightly hazy dark chestnut brown with a small creamy off-white head. Aroma of malt, chocolate, dark fruit, ash, bread, nut, touch of smoke. Moderate sweetness, medium bitterness and body. Smooth oily mouthfeel, average to soft carbonation. Good depth for its modest abv, quite enjoyable.
