Cask at Rusty Bucke, Bexley. Clear brown. Thick foamy light beige head. Aroma has malta and berries but all rather vague. Sweet and fruity with a citrus streak. Underlying malts. Some biitter wood appears into the finish. Light-medium bodied. Soft fluffy carbonation. Long finish. Enjoyable Best. Delightful fluffiness.

1/6/2023. Cask at the 36th Colchester Real Ale & Cider Festival. Pours almost clear dark amber with a small bubbly off-white head. Aroma is malty, toffee, biscuit, orange, citrus, light spicy and nutty notes. Moderate sweetness and medium bitterness. Medium body, slightly creamy, soft carbonation. Robust flavoursome best.

From cask at The Dog & Bell, Deptford, London, with JFE 29.09.22. Dark mahogany. Dense beige head and lacing. Excellent aroma and taste of pale malt, dark crystal malt, Port, brittle, freshly baked rye bread, prunes, corints and dates. Appropriately uncarbonared. Served at perfect cellar temperature and in perfect condition, as I am accustomed to at this lovely pub.
