Oaxacan begins as an amber sour ale brewed with smoked wheat malts. It’s then laid to rest in Pink Tequila Barrels (red wine barrels used to age Tequila, lending a softer spirit character) with grapefruit and lime zest. When Oaxacan reaches its its peak complexity, it’s blended onto additional grapefruit to lend fresh citrus essence.

Bottle share in the hotel lobby, RBWG, 01/02/16, thanks to Italarican. Murky amber orange with a moderately appointed off white head. Nose is herbal, grain, pissy citrics, funk, orange zest. Taste comprises sharp citric rinds, grapefruit must, spice, straw, herbal, moderate barrel tones. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, puckering finale. Ok but a little harsh and imbalanced for me.

Bottle, thanks SirLimpsalot. Hazy golden/orange with a small white head. Aroma and taste of funk, some smoke, grapefruit, lime and light herbs. Kind of relaxed and with a sour finish.

Pours hazy gold into a tulip. White head quickly recedes too nothing. Lime and slight tequila aromas. Soft with sweet citrus and tequila front to back. Lasting lime and grapefruit finish.

Bottle. Pours a hazy orange with no head. The aroma is agave, oak, funk. Medium mouth, spice, agave, funky, tart finish, good.
