355ml bottle. Darkest brown, quasi black colour with average to huge, frothy, diminishing, minimally lacing, beige head. Roasty, peaty, dark malty aroma, hints of tar, crude oil, smoked eel, dark chocolate. Taste is roasty dark malty, minimally peaty, hints of tar, dark chocolate, a touch of cold charcoal; rather light and almost a bit watery.

Cloudy brown color. Nice cacao and brownies in the nose. Rich mouth full of brownies, with a fair amount of nuttiness. Slightly bitter but the Mouth is a bit thin. Still nice depth.

On tap at Seattle Tap house SEA. Dark reddish brown with a small khaki head that leaves some lace. Nose is muted chocolate with light vanilla, molasses, and some earth. Flavour is a little more pronounced with light sweet chocolate fronting a medium bitterness. Mouth is medium light and creamy but finishing dry.

A relatively standard American Porter. Sweet with chocolate and light roasted malt profile. Well brewed and quite enjoyable.

Draft at GABBF: Poured a black with tan head. Aroma is roasted malts and chocolate. Taste was milk chocolate, coffee bean, and roast malts. Very nice blend of sweet and roast.

On tap at Empire Ale House, pours a deep dark brown / black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out nice notes of cocoa, light roast and a touch of coffee. Flavour is quite roasted for a porter, with secondary notes of dry cocoa. Quite robust and full-flavoured despite being rather light on the palate. Very nice stuff.

Very bitter for a porter, roast grains bringing some stout like bitterness, almost black body supports a fluffy beige head. Burnt toast aroma leads into full on roast bitterness, overall body belies somewhat watery mouth feel.

Bottle from Total Wines. Near black in colour with a thin, tan, head. Roasty malts, a touch of dark chocolate, caramel sweetness, and a dryish finish with hint of lactic tanginess. Good.

Bottle at Christine and Daves, Thanksgiving warm down cheers to Dave, 28/11/13. Light black with a moderate tan covering that clears to a pond. Nose is roast malt, earthy cocoa, brown sugars, dark toffee. Taste carries a good roasted blast, chocolate, liqourice, dark toffee. Medium bodied, slightly prickly and over carbonated, dry finale. Solid all round porter let down a little on the palate.
