Brewed with Coriander and white tea. Citrusy, hoppy & bitter with refreshing notes of spice. Who gives a monkey? Dutch seafarers returning from the east would often bring back monkeys, which they would sell to tavern-keepers to pay off drinking debts. Our IPA, with its hints of botanicals and spice, is a tribute to those sailors’ spirit of adventure and quick thinking.

Lichtgeel bier met stevige schuimkraag. Smaak is bitter hoppig en fruitig, als een echte IPA, met iets van citrus, grapefruit en zwarte thee. Smaak is iets te waterig naar mijn mening.

pours rather clear blonde, medium white head. Medium low stability. Smell is dry spices (generic spices, nothing really pops out ) very mild fruity hops. I don't specifically recognize the coriander, nor do i know what white tea specifically smells like, since I have no knowledge about tea. Taste is surprisingly bitter. High in carbonation. Tastes sharp, is that a slight metallic note ? I don't think it actually is, its more those botanicals that pull it out of balance. ends a bit 'powdery', no hop burn this time, more ( again ) those spices. No doubt i'd have prefer the basebeer on its own, but I must say there is a certain balance to be found for those who are more enthousiastic about botanical additions than I am. The bitterness balances it out pretty much, there's even room for some ( base) malty aroma's. The carbonation is to high though, which is the biggest downside to this beer to me.
