Witbier je elegantno in osvežilno pšenično pivo, ki ga v Belgiji varijo že več kot 400 let. Posebnost tega piva je velika količina neslajene pšenice v skupni masi surovin, ki mu daje značilno motno, belkasto-zlato barvo ter mehak in osvežilen okus. Tega oblikuje še dodatek lupine grenke pomaranče in koriandrovih semen, ki so za ta stil skoraj obvezna.
V pivovarni Tektonik smo zvarili sezonsko belgijsko pivo stila Wit, po tradicionalnem receptu. Sveže zdrobljena semena indijskega koriandra, lupine grenke pomaranče curacao poudarjajo svežino, ki jo dodatek črnega popra samo še izostri. Slovenski hmelj Styrian Golding ima tu le vlogo moderatorja, ki poveže arome in okuse v lahko, aromatično in sveže pivo, z relativno nizko alkoholno stopnjo, kar je kot nalašč za vroče poletne dni.

Bottle @ Aarhus tasting, my place. Nice head with good duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are wheat malt, flowers, fruits, hops and yeast. Dry light grassy finish.

Auch bei diesem Bier ist wohl das Etikett das auffälligste. Es wird ein solides, aber auch langweilges Witbier geliefert. Als optisch ansprechendes Mitbringsel auf jeden Fall ein guter Gag, geschmacklich eher MIttelfeld.

Pale yellow colored, hazy, gusher, overfoaming, white soapy head. Aroma is of wheat, spicy coriander, yeast, some citric notes. Taste is medium sweet wheat, bready yeast, strong spiciness with light pepper, coriander, bit metal, some orange, citric, light+ bitterness. Light bodied, lively carbonation, bit watery. Not bad, but boy does it foam... (bottle)

Pours cloudy yellow body with almost no head. Smell is malty and spicy, hint of caramel and coriander. Thin body, subtly carbonated. Texture is a bit watery. Somewhat sour mouthfeel with slight bitterness on the tongue. Aroma of yeast, wheat, malts, coriander, herbs. Slightly fruity with hints of banana and cloves. Normal finish. Overall, ok beer. A bit light and watery, but still ok. Refreshing.

Keg at Pop’s Place, Ljubljana. Clodu orange colour, rich creamy head. Fruity dusty nose with a mild touch of herbal spices. Mid sweet with light body and clean mouthfeel. Fruity with some white bread. Low bitterness.
