Bourbon infused Abbey Ale. Als het weer wat kouder wordt betekent het weer tijd voor Maker’s Monk! Denk aan een vol, lichtzoet abdijbier, maar dan ook nog bourbon infused. Heerlijk verwarmend tijdens de koude dagen. Dit bier won een zilver bij de Barcelona Beer Challenge in 2018

21 August 2021. At Gents Bierfestival. Cheers to Anke, Kevin, Jerre & the Ghent beer crew! Clear dark brown, no head. Aroma of diluted coffee, toast, prune, clove, fondant, fudge, burnt brown sugar, raisin, brown rum. Taste has sweet prune, fig & pear, thick fudge-like maltiness, syrupy too, toned down by bitter spices & coffee. Herbal hoppy finish, hint of toast, more dried dark fruits, caramel & heating alcohol, keeping the middle between brown rum & bourbon. Medium to full body, oily texture, average carbonation. Bit too sweet so could have had more hoppiness or actual woody tannins.

Brune foncée, col blanc-cassé.
Arôme reste sur un nez classique belge, effluves plaisantes tirant sur les fruits noirs et secs - figues, dates, prune, qcq esters en rétro avec un léger rétro de Bourbon qui perce en rétro-nasal.
Palais est belge de suite sur l'apport levure et malts - fruité sur les fruits noirs - figue et dates, petite pointe épicée sur la fin et un palais qui garde une certaine onctuosité - candi/vanille.
Brune foncée, col blanc-cassé.

Fles geprobeerd met LiekevdV, Kim en Sander. Het is een helder donkerbruin bier met een beige schuim. Het heeft een moutige geur met tonen van rozijnen en bourbon. De smaak is vol, zoet, caramelachtig met tonen van bourbon.

Rather clear deep red brown beer, small creamy beige head, unstable, falls down quickly, non adhesive. Aroma: lots of ripe bananas, a bit sweet. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: sweet start, caramel, lots of banana, a bit sugary, little hoppy, soft roast, alcohol. Aftertaste: yeasty, soft roast, little bitter, some coffee, more bitterness, dry finish.

330mml. bottle as part of the «European Local Swap 2/2019». Many thanks Maakun. Tasted @ home. 15/05/2019. Clear dark brown colour with a medium head. Aroma is dried fruits, wood, caramel and soft toffee. Taste is caramel malts and wood leading to a soft fruity finish. Long finish. Next one please!

33 cl. bottle @ home, gift from my parents. Clear brown with a very thin off-white head. Malty aroma with lots of raisins, some prunes and a hint of vanilla bourbon. Sweet taste. Long sweet finish. Very nice indeed.

Bottle @ home. Clear dark red-brown color, small beige head that disappears quickly. Aroma is malts, raisins, some caramel and dark candy sugar. Taste malts, caramel, dark candy sugar, raisins, vanilla. Decent to medium body, a bit oily texture, medium carbonation. Hmm not bad.
