[2/3/16] Draught at Faction Brewing in Alameda. Black with a creamy tan head. Nice roasty coffee aroma with a cocoa note. Sweetish flavor with roast, coffee, some chocolate. Medium-bodied. Good.

Draft at pita kabob in Visalia. Deep brown with brown head. Moderate coffee with moderate roasts barley. Slight chocolate.

Tap at Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours dark brown/black with a dark tan head. Aroma is coffee! Med + body. Flavor is coffee over smooth dark toasty malt. Finishes earthy bitter, but not entirely dry. Good stuff, but not extremely exciting.

On tap at Faction. It pours dark brown with a tan head. The aroma is strong with chocolate and coffee. A little cola, but pretty rich with the roast and cocoa. Maybe a hint of vanilla as it warms. The flavor is good. Medium to light bodied with massive coffee roast. No astringency or tartness. Heavy roast though. Pretty dry. I like my coffee stouts with a bit more body, but the flavors here are nice.
