Reviewed from notes. Purchased on 05/25/2020; Consumed on 05/30/2020.
Can to snifter.
Appearance: dark brown close to black color with a finger's worth of white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: dark chocolate, milk chocolate, vanilla, woody sweet and woody semi-spiciness - subtle barrel notes, light dark fruits
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas to a sweet to woody spicy & sweet quality; mellow finish of milk chocolate, woody sweet and vanilla
Texture: medium bodied, great sipper, some smoothness but also noticeable woody spice
Overall: probably could have saved this a bit longer but mostly a very nice beer.

On tap at the Beer Baron. It pours a dark brown/black color with a thick, creamy light brown head. The aroma is awesome with rich dark chocolate, fudge, some wood and light notes of vanilla. Big mocha coffee as well. The flavor has more coffee, dark cocoa, vanilla, bourbon and light tartness on the palate. Big roasted finish with some tobacco ash, mild tartness, and spicy oak. Altamont cranked up the bourbon influence on this one, but the beer is chewy enough to take it on. A decadent treat.
