0,33 l bottle from Heimathaven, Oldenburg. Nearly black in the glass, one finger short living beige head. Malty smoky bacon smell with some sweetness. Taste starts also malty smokey, but not as peated as expected. Licorice sweetness. Low alcoholic to the end and getting more dry. Nice.

Bottle. Pours ink black, little head. Aroma is smokey, bacon, dark malts, some chocolate. Big body. Flavour is malty, lots of smoke, bacon and peat. Some coffee and chocolate, but the smoke is dominant. Medium bitterness. Finishes bittersweet, smoke. Quite nice, could use a bit more depth and complexity. But good and drinkable.

Bottle shared at anti-carnavalstasting. Dark brown to black color, reddish glare coming through, average to medium sized white to off-white head. Smell and taste malts, smoke, smoked ham. Hmm ok beer, not a fan.

Bottle from a gift box - many thanks to mom & dad for bringing it & to the brewer for gifting it! Pours hazy dark brown with a lasting, small, foamy, tan head; some lacing. Aroma of smoked sausage, bacon, tobacco, charcoal, wood, earth, faint rubber. Taste is light to medium malty sweet, hints of chocolate & nuts revolving around a smoky core of peat, tobacco & sausage, releasing umami accents, with a soft roasted & slightly herbal bitter undercurrent. Lingering smokiness in the dry, earthy hoppy finish, more peat, toast & woody nuttiness, and a subtle dash of warming peated whisky alcohol. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Aroma may be somewhat one-sided but the taste combines the best of both worlds. Enjoyed!
