New look, same fresh taste. One of the all-time highest rated IPAs on RateBeer, AleSmith IPA is a west coast-style India pale ale icon. Bursting with massive hop aromas of grapefruit, pine, and tropical fruits from huge additions of Columbus and Citra, this classic IPA is perfectly balanced by a healthy malt backbone and smooth, bitter finish.

Renowned West Coast IPA, draught at Gollem in Antwerp. Very thick and densely moussy, fluffy, egg-white head over a hazy, warm orange blonde beer. Lovely ’dank’ and completely flawless aroma with hints of pink grapefruit, mandarin, some pine resin, mango, green banana, flowers, biscuit, sweet onion, hemp, lychee. Crisp, clean and refreshing onset, lovely rounded and utterly well-balanced fruitiness (orange, mango, lychee), somewhat sharpish carbo with slightly minerally effect, full soft malt sweet background, long, resinous, aromatically hoppy finish, gently bittering the back of the mouth with grapefruity, spicy and lightly piney retronasal aromas. Righteously a classic, It’s Pretty Awesome indeed.

33cl bottle. Semi-hazy pale orange with a medium height white head with good retention, that ultimately gives way to a sticky lacing. Smells like grapefruit, caramel, passion fruit and pine resin. The taste follows the same notes, grapefruit, pine, unripe tropical fruits and green hops, all very well balanced. Medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

250 ml. draft @ Gollem. This one is a real classic of American Brewing. Very dark orange with a big creamy tanned head, nice lacing. Taste is big pine resin, big herbal bitterness & substantial bread malts base, orange & some sugar. Taste is big pine resin goop bitterness with a clear herbal character, leading into big malt presence, dried orange peel, bready malts, sugar, finish features some raw wet barn & mothballs hops, touch odd & bit lesser, low apricot & candy qualities overall. Boyd is lightly milky & thick. Meltier than your average modern day IPA & hop is more herbal and pine bitterness rather than some of the modern day fruit explosions. It is more classical profile (if that term means anything with regard to the USA beer scene were even classics get completely rearranged from time to time que Stone for instance). Nice old(er) school beer, drinks well, not to my exact preference but quite nice.

No no, konkretne IPA. Bardzo dobre i jak dla mnie odbiegające niewiele od kanonu tego stylu. Po pierwsze ciekawy zapach glownie wyczuwałem suszone pomaranczowe owoce: morela, jazebina i rokitnik. Wyglad tez niezły, spora i trwala piana oblepiajaca mocno szklo. Metne bardzo, pomarańczowe refleksy glownie. Smak przewazajacy cytrusowy, pomarancze czerwone, grejfruty, rokitnik i brzoskwinia.

0.66l bottle. Light amber body, lasting white head. Aroma of bread, caramel and honey packed with loads of hops(pine, grapefruit, grass, resins). Taste of caramel, honey, apricot, citruses and pine. One of the best IPAs I have ever tasted.
