On tap and cask at the brewpub (which indicated 9.7% ABV). Pours with a large, foamy, just off-white head with good lace and great retention. Slightly hazed copper hued body underneath. Aromas of orange peel, big, peppery alcohol, caramel and a ton of esters. Nearly some banana (bananas foster), lots of higher alcohols. Not trace of hops. Flavors of treacle, brandy, soft. Still pretty well attenuated. Complex malt and yeast interactions. Esters, alcohol, some dark fruits, dates, water salts. Not very bitter, but balanced by dryness. Medium bubbles, medium bodied, dry finish and quite warming. Interesting!

Draft. Copper beer with a nice cream colored head. Earthy aroma with caramel. Caramel and malt flavor with earth and light pine. Medium-plus bodied. Caramel and earth linger with light woodsiness.
