Keg at the Crooked Stave tap take over, Kings Arms BG, 25/04/15. Lightly hazed pale golden topped with a moderate off white swirl. Nose is pissy citrics, lemon, straw, peach, musty wood. Taste comprises tangy tropical vibes, mandarin, damp straw, yeast notes, tarte lemon rind, woody notes, trace of dry rot, light green berry. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, tarte fruit rinse and subtle acidity in the close. Decent sour.

Keg at Kings Arms - London. Pours clear yellow with a foamy white head. Nice funky lemon aroma, slight grass. Light sweet flavorbwith some white grapes, slight cereal, hay, berries, lemon. Light bodied with spritzy carbonation. Pretty clean on the finish with some further cereal, pale bread, tart lemon. Refreshing.

Poured from a bottle. Aroma is slightly oak forward with some medium light citrus and pineapple notes. Hints of limes and a nice floral note with a hint of yarrow, though not the dominant floral note. Hints of overripe melon as well. Pours a very pale, slightly cloudy, yellow gold with a small, thin white head that quickly disappears. No lacing and faint legs. Flavor is fairly acidic and similar to a Berliner Weiss. Light oak notes and tannins with moderate lemon and light lime. Some light stone fruit and moderate pineapple with hints of melon. Medium light floral note with light bitterness. Mouthfeel is light bodied with medium low carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a pretty enjoyable beer. Similar to a Berliner, but with a floral and fruity character more reminiscent of an AWA. Floral notes work well with the fruitiness of the yeast.

Sample from 2014 bottle at the Jackie O’s Staff Bottle Tasting Part 1 on 04/11/2015. Hazy straw color with a medium fluffy white head that recedes gradually to an outer ring. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus, floral yeast and malt. Light-bodied with a mildly funky citrus character and flavors of herbal yeast and biscuit malt. The finish is fruity with a tart lemony aftertaste. Solid beer all around.

Bottle at home. It pours lightly hazy very pale gold with a tiny white head. The nose is funky, earthy brett, bread, tangerine, orange sherbet, wet leaves, must, barnyard and hay. The taste is crisp, tart, good mouth-pucker, light acidity, orange sherbet, lemon, Granny Smith apple, white grape skin and mouldy wood with a dry finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Smooth and very drinkable. Yum.

Bottle bought @ bierkompass.de. Pours hazy vibrant yellow with a rather small frothy white head that leaves a small trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is sour and funky with crackers, lemon juice, lime juice, sour milk, hay, dry soil, mineral, barnyard, rubber, horse blanket and lemon zest. Taste is sour, slightly fruity and funky with crackers, lemon juice, lime juice, green apples, yoghurt, passion fruit, hay, dry soil, mineral, horse blanket, barnyard, minerals, kumquats and lemon zest. Mouthfeel is crisp, dry, tart, tiny mouth-puckering and light bodied. Finish is sour with crackers, lemon juice, lime juice, green apples, hay, dry soil, minerals, barnyard, kumquats, lemon zest and hints of horse blanket. A citric acid centered lambic? Doesn’t matter, either way this is a damn good golden sour. Lovely!

Bottle @ home with LeninCat picked up at 287 Liquor. Very hazy yellow appearance with a fizzy white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is full of lactic acid, lemon, vanilla, hay, funk, and dust. Watery body. Low carbonation. Twangy, softly acidic. Lots of cheese, funk, citrus, and must in the flavor. The flavor doesn’t linger very long. Maybe a hint of mint and honey. A work in progress. I actually really dug the micro flora used in the beer but the body and carbonation need some work. MJ’s description of the beer seems pretty spot on to me, but I really see this beer having potential with some future tweaks. Update: it’s getting better and better! lots of lactic now.

Bottle thanks to Tom. Pours a hazy gold with small white head that lasts. The aroma is oak, strong yeast, funk. Medium mouth, clean funk, light tartness, easy to drink, really enjoyed this one.
