We’ve got this fun little Brett Blend in house here. It’s the same blend we used in our “Island Culture” Saison. It’s alive and well and does fantastic things to beers. This beer is hopped aggressively with Australian Galaxy and lightly with New Zealand Motueka and American Equinox. We keg conditioned it for three weeks to let the Brett develop in these last two kegs. We want the funk!

On tap at Cellarmaker. It pours a mostly clear yellow color with a white head. The aroma is funky piss and pineapple with mild phenols. The flavor is also pretty pissy with some funk, pineapple and citrus. Clean on the palate and light bodied. Ok. A little disappointing, but I was expecting too much maybe.

The beer is a milky medium yellow. Clouded through. Small white head. The aroma is an odd mix of brett funk and fruity hop flavors. Much stronger brett presence than expected. Dank overripe pineapple and peach funk with light dust. Much heavier and deeper than a normal IPA here. Orange juice acidity. Lemon. Some grass. Lime. Taste is mildly dry. Odd gummy sweetness in there. Lightly bitter. Dusty dry finish. More body to it than expected. A bit sticky which is odd. Not bad but not my favorite.

On draught at Ale Arsenal. Very hazy yellow with fluffy white head that retains throughout. Moderate juicy fruit and tropics with the Brett a little restrained in a nice way. Tropical fruit taste. Very good.
