A special edition version of our famous oyster stout.
This time we’ve built upon our standard malt base and added a higher ratio of dark malts to create more coffee and biscuit roast character as well as boosting the abv and the mash temp to give the beer a fuller body and mouthfeel.
We added U.K. Admiral and challenger hops early in the boil to add a nice whack of bitterness to the beer as well as a moderate dry hop of US Chinook Cryo hops to give a burst of citrus that contrasts the sweet malts nicely.
This beer is brewed with roughly 1000 whole Whitstable Oysters or roughly 1 per pint.
Yeehawww!

Draft at the Sea Farmers Dive Taproom, Whitstable. Poured almost black in colour with an everlasting frothy off-white head. The aroma is roasted malt, light herbal. The flavour is moderate to light sweet and liquorice bitter, with a smooth, rich, roasty, earthy, herbal, liquorice bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.
