Draft at the HCMC taproom. Served way too cold for a stout. It was literally Joo freezing and I waited over 30 minutes for it to warm up before rating it. Poured almost black in colour with a lasting frothy off-white head. The aroma is roasty malt and chocolate. The flavour is moderate liquorice bitter, light sweet, with a rich, smooth, roasty, light milk chocolate, big boozy liquorice bitter palate. Over medium bodied with soft carbonation. No evidence of the promised toffee caramel and cream liquor, but that is most likely down to the temperature at which it was served and there is a limit as to how long you can wait for it to warm.
