A small bottle from their brewhouse, drunk at home here in Taipei. Aroma: very nice, chocolate - specifically Cadbury’s cream eggs! Appearance: a foamy pour, opaque Americano, lingering rocky tan head. Palate: medium-bodied and noticeably tart on the tongue; finishes rather abruptly. Taste: lightly sweet, chocolate and some coffee. I’m not sure what to make of the sour flavour - on balance I think it’s thumbs down. Nice aroma though.

Draft at the Dempsey Road taproom. Poured almost black in colour with an everlasting frothy off-white head. The aroma is roasty malt and chocolate. The flavour is moderate to light sweet and liqourice bitter, with a smooth, rich, roasty, chocolate, lactose, light liqourice bitter finish. Over medium bodied with soft carbonation.
