hoptimaal #18 can pitch black with dark brown head aroma is chocolate cake, christmas pudding (well seasoned dried dark fruits, booze, nuts) tea, nutmeg. They emptied the spice cabinet into this one, but fortunately, by aroma, they started out with a super solid hard roasted imp. stout. Flavor is roasted malts, chocolate, nutmeg, cardemom, vanilla, pepper, other spices as well. A complex dark-cake like flavor with tons of spicy notes but none of them over the edge or unbalanced. A dessert-beer. very tasty and rounded - for a crazily spiced up beer, this is outstandingly good.

Can from HavnensVinOgTobak. Pours opaque black with small dark brown head. Aroma is intense chai, roasted malt, liqourice, Gammel Dansk bitter, intense spice (cinnamin, cloves, nutmeg, lovage, mint, thyme, rosemary), cocoa, vanilla, walnuts, hazelnuts, anise and cream. Taste is very sweet, light bitter, faint acidic and light salty. Body is creamy with faint carbonation. Finish is long and mostly very sweet with notes of roasted malt, chai spice (cinnamon, pepper, cloves, nutmeg, mint, cardamom, lovage, dried ginger), liquorice, anise, nutmeg and cocoa. Very intense, rich and spicy. More round than the plain Chaiwala (ID 1184801).
