Westerwald-Bräu is a further beer speciality of the Westerwald-Brewery. A type of beer from the earlier period of promoterism, as it was drunken in this region before the turn of century. Smooth and powerful.

Herb hopfiger, eher wässriger Antrunk. Stimmig, herb bleibend. Typisches Pils ohne Fehler aber auch ohne Besonderheiten. 9/9/9/9//9

330ml bottle. Clear, orangey, deep golden colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting ,minimally lacing, white head. Strawy and intensely grainy aroma, a touch of dark (forest) honey. Taste is strawy, grainy, minimally sweet, a honey touch again; plain bitter hoppy finish. Reminds me of what I imagine to remember to be the taste of their Pilsener in the 80s (without the honey touch, of course) - but obviously they’ve found their style already in the 1880s.
