375ml corked and caged bottle purchased at the Wine and Cheese Place in Clayton, Missouri. October 2015 on the bottle. The pour is a hazed orange golden, murky, with a well formed 2 inch foamy off white head. Thick coating lace left behind. The aroma is big leather funk, all about the Brett. The is some citrus, grass, floral hop mixed into the yeast as well. The taste is the dry Brett, nice floral leather, soft lemon citrus mixing in and integrating beautifully. The palate is medium bodied, unfiltered mouthfeel with soft carbonation and a clean Brett finish. Nice stuff.

Bottle from Firma Bier, small sample. Slight hazy golden color, short frothy head. Aroma of some grassy and flowery hop, lots of funk, slight plastic even. Slight bitter in taste, quite drym bit spicy. Not enough bubblegum for me.

Bottle @ home shared by Caesar. Hazy pale yellow color, full sized white head. Aroma is heavy brett. Taste malts, brett. It actually almost stops there, I don’t get a lot else. Not as good as previous Crooked Stave beers I’ve had.

(375ml Oct 2015 bottle from kihoskh.dk) Pours a hazy pale orange with a big loose white pile of foam that recedes slowly with spotty lace. Aroma is generally a mix of tart fruit, hops and funk. Tart orange and other citrus, hay, quite floral, musky passion fruit, earthy, some peppery herbs, a bit of barnyard feel overall. Flavour isn’t as tart as I remember others in the series being, rather dry and bitter with notes of flowers, passion fruit, grass, green mango, pine, earth, peppery yeasty notes, light Brett funk. Finish is dry, bitter with pine, dry grass and peppery herbs. Persistent grassy bitterness in the aftertaste. Average body with slightly above average carbonation. Another lovely Brett IPA from Crooked Stave, even if it isn’t totally fresh.
