Bottle from Chester Beer and Wine. Clear copper colour with moderate sized white head, decent retention. Aroma of brown bread, caramel, honey, flora. Taste is bready, light zesty and floral hop, honey, quite a drying moderate bitter finish. Light bodied. A reasonable best bitter.

Bottle from Beer Ambleside. Appearance - dark copper in fact, into brown. Proportionate head. Nose - burnt toffee, light orange and honey edge. Taste - toffee plus lemon and honey lozenges. Palate - close to medium bodied. Sweet and creamy in the middle. Rich finish which could be fresher. Overall - ok.
