Cask at London & North Western, Birmingham. Clear amber/light copper with smooth beige head. Notes of roasted malt, chocolate, nuts, toffee. Quite full and rich, moderate sweetness with roasty and grassy hop bitter finish. Not a light best bitter for sure. Quite good.

Cask at Borehole, Stone. Pours “bitter brown” with a small foamy cream head and good lacing. The aroma is a decent mix of malts, honey and nuts. Malts to the fore again in the mouth, where sweetness overlays some bitter hops, with a creamy texture. Quite a bit of ginger too plus traces of marmalade and lemon leading to a slightly dry and bitter finish. This is a decent best bitter.
