Can (1/4/24) pour from The Beer Store, Salem. Very dark brown-mahogany with light sparkle, big head with fair retention and no lacing. Aroma is roasted, earthy, bready malt; brown bread, nuts and hint of dark fruit. Taste is roasted, earthy, bready malt as aroma, a vaguely cinnamon spice element and hint of tartness. Smooth, thick, frothy texture, soft carbonation and crisp finish. Aroma is quite good but taste and finish don't live up.

Pours mahogany tinged black into a willi. Mocha head with little retention recedes to hug rim. Dark molasses and chocolate aromas. Dry with sour licorice and soy upfront turning to dusty chocolate in the medium length finish.
