Taster pour from a can at The Beer Store, Salem. Opaque, inky black with thin head. Aroma is roasted malt--a bit to the charred side--some lactose sweetness, earthy, slight rye. Taste followed aroma. Smooth texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste.

Pours dark, thick cocoa into an English pint. Mocha head with good retention recedes leaving spotty sheets. Dark chocolate and pumpernickel aromas. Medium bodied and sharp with dark chocolate and burnt pumpernickel upfront tuning to dusty briquets and creamy lactose in the dry, lasting finish..
