Our fifteen year anniversary is here! We brewed a big strong Belgian Quad for the occasion, XV! This beer is a big, bold, dark strong ale that fills your mouth with happiness from the first sip. It hits your lips with a complex malt profile which is doing a beautiful job of restraining the well hidden alcohols at 10.5%. Waves of fruit come in from these malts and leave you with impressions of fig, raisin, and cherry. The generous use of candied sugar and syrup bring in flavors of deeply caramelized sugars and molasses. Hops hold up the malt and sugar to create a balance so the sweetness doesn’t overwhelm. And last but not least, the yeast steals the show with its flavors and aromas.

Reviewed from notes.
Can to tulip.
Appearance: ruddy dark amber color with a thin cap of a little white foamy head which quickly dissipated and didn't leave any lace
Aroma: lots of dark fruits, caramelized sugar, light banana, some yeasty presence - kinda earthy and candy-ish; some dark malts - somewhat chocolatey
Flavor: melds the prior noted aromas to a nice sweet vibe, finishes dark fruity and sugary
Texture: light to medium bodied, leaning to being a sipper; some smoothness; light dryness
Overall: to me, I believe this misses the mark of a true Belgian quad, however there is something good here and was enjoyable to sip.

Pours clear dark mahogany into a shaker. Tan head with little retention recedes to mottle surface. Bubblegum, fig and clove aromas. Thick with fig, date, clove and bubblegum front to back. Warm treacle finish.

Pours a nice ruby brown from a can. Big candy sugar, slight fig aroma. Similar flavor, nicely sweet not overly so. Very good beer.
