A rare and complex double mashed Imperial Stout. Hints of chocolate, woodsmoke and well aged brandy. A coming together of richness and softness in perfect harmony.

Cask at Pigs Ear 2015, day 1 - London. Pours oily black with a creamy, beige head. The nose holds tangy dark fruits, light chocolate, wood, earth. Hugely sweet, viscous, with more dark fruits, oil, cherry, cocoa. Full bodied, oily and chewy, with fine carbonation. Warming finish, sticky-sweet, with burnt dark sugars, brown sugar, ripe dark fruits. Full-on stuff. Pretty interesting, and certainly not lacking for depth of character. But balanced, it is not.
