The beer is coffee black, maybe. I can see some brown in there. Thick layer of beige foam. Solid lacing. Nitro tap. Chocolate, mild roast, some ash. Moderate caramel. Taste is moderately dry. There’s a pretty good hit of caramel sweetness. Mild bitterness. Light fruity roast. Nice example of the style.

On tap at the brewery. It pours a dark brown color with some ruby highlights and a creamy, nitro-like khaki head. The aroma is hard roasted and a little ashy with hints of coffee and cocoa. Not very complex or rich on the nose. The flavor is dry and lightly acidic with some coffee and cocoa powder. Very light bodied with a roasted finish and hints of ash with some moderate astringency. It needs a creamier mouthfeel.

Draught. Jet black with a tan head. Aroma is dry chocolate flavour chocolate malt, a little thin but a decent stout.
