We brewed this Northeast Style IPA 2 years ago as one of 1st attempts at recreating the style. We’ve learned a thing or 2 since, so we were really excited to rebrew it & make some tasty adjustments. Hopped with Simcoe, Mosaic, Cascade, Chinook, Centennial, Motueka CTZ. Brewed with English ale yeast, P5 is hopped like a WC IPA with the awesome yeast esters of a NE IPA.

The beer is a pale yellow with a touch of tan. It’s clouded through, just a little bit translucent. Small to medium sized white head. Fades to a ring of a bubbles. A little bit of lacing. The aroma is full of juicy hop goodness. Sweet fruitiness abounds. The aroma is tangerine and pineapple juice with peach sweetness and a twist of lime peel. Milder berry depth. A touch of pine. Fresh, simple grain in the back. The taste has maybe light to moderate bitterness. Tons of hop flavor. Great mineral note gives it a pleasant astringency. The hops are sweet and juicy. Finish builds up the bitterness a bit, but this is a hop flavor bomb. Mouthfeel is light but creamy. Really good stuff.

On tap at Cellarmaker. It pours a cloudy pale yellow color with a white head. The aroma has fresh cut melon and jackfruit. A little lime. The flavor is a bit doughy with some dense pale malt, more melon, lime and grapefruit. Seems muddled and not super clean. Ok. Very hoppy as usual.
