A brilliant golden (blonde) ale with an especially pronounced hop character from its First Gold hops which offers clean refreshing flavours and aromas. With its well-structured malt body derived from finest Maris Otter malt, it is a full bodied satisfying drink with a hint of honey in the finish. It is marketed as Fair Comment at summer fairs in and around the Alnwick district.

Third, gravicask at GBBF Winter. Shared with BeerViking and Finn. Almost clear amber-gold body, dotted spots on the glass, fair white head. Moderate malt-fruity smell, herbal dry. Mixed taste character of mid-sweet caramel malts and ripe citrus. Mid-dry bitter finish. Satsifying. (Birmingham 04.02.2020).

Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 4/7/2019. Golden in colour, with a thin, white, head. Flabby malts, a floral edge, some sweetness leading to a tangy, slightly, bitter finish. Not wonderful.
