On tap at JR's. Looks a little light brown with a tad of pink eye in there. Smell is absent of soiree, nor does it smell like a berliner. Tastes more like a mildly flavored fruit beer rather than a berliner. Yes, lacks all the friendly bubbly fruityy effects, they are simply hiding in this improperly styled beer. No friendly female berliner is in this rather standard fruited flavored lager. A little tart but not really berliner tart. Its c02 is also not quitereaching the cutting nature either. Underwhelmed but a decent fruit beer.

From tap. Pours hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma is mild ehrbal, light fruity note. Citric, raspberry. Grainy. Slight sourish. Dry and raspberry herbal finish.

Sampled on draft at Tapped this beer poured a murky reddish-orange color with a large foamy white head that lingered and left excellent lacing. The aroma was tartish and a bit tangy with vague fruits. The flavor was dryish and a bit tart with a raspberry presence that tasted a bit artificial. Long raspberry finish. Medium body. Meh.

Poured into a stange, the appearance was a ruddy burnt amber color with a sly transparency about it. Mild carbonation flows upward nice and even. Finger’s worth of white foamy was able to sustain for a good minute before dieing off. No lacing.
The aroma started off with raspberry tart/sourness with a touch of sweetness that seems to flow evenly into a nice little kick of sweet and sour wheat.
The flavor flows nicely between the sour and the sweet, raspberry that is. Sweet to sour wheat bite. Swift semi-sticky/prickly raspberry seed aftertaste. Same sort of finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body. Raspberry seems to beef this up a bit with a dry prickly texture leaving the carbonation to feel just right.
Overall, nice Berliner weisse that I could have again, preferably in the Summer.
