Dutch for “Good Night”, the one of a kind Goedenacht is influenced by elements of mead, cider and beer styles. This innovative integration gets a lift from juicy tropical aromas and the Brettanomyces claussenii used in fermentation.

500 ml bottle from Lower Merion Beverage in Ardmore, PA. Honey gold pour. Pillowy white head. Aroma of earthy funk, sweet honey and green apple. Mild, smooth flavor. Notes of honey, apple, pear and mild coriander. Very drinkable for a 9.7% ABV brew. Nicely done.

Rated in 2014 as Draai Laag Goedenacht, brewer assures me its the same recipe. On tap at the bocktown, nice place. No real apparent aroma, surprisingly no volatile fumes for nearly 10%. And, its fairly easy on the palate. quite civilized you would never know this is 10%. Hides the alky really well, reserved and almost sessionable. On the uptake, it seems more like a 4% domestic beldgy. After a few, you now know its a tenner, wew, dizzy baby. Well done DL on this beldgy wannah bee. Its reserved and with manners, good job! Nice domestic attempt at a real trippel. I've had this a few times, mostly its a darker cloudy beer but sometimes I've seen it a little lighter.
