Farmhouse ale aged in French oak barrels with spruce tips
Drawing inspiration from the malty and robust French Bière de Garde style, this tart, amber-colored farmhouse ale was aged in neutral French oak barrels before blending and conditioning on Oregon-foraged Sitka Spruce tips. Tantalizing evergreen and citrus aromas waft from the glass and provide a refreshing balance to the toasty malt flavors of the base beer.

Bottle. Pours brown orange. Biscuit, toffee, bubblegum, light spruce, funk, barnyard. Medium body. Good.

Biere de gardes aren't high on my favorite styles list but this is a delicious one! Spruce tips give it a solid piney packed flavor and the oak barrel woodiness rounds it out. All with a tangy tight finish.
