Sample at Brouwer’s Cafe during "6 Degrees of Inebriation" on 04/09/2016. Black pour with a medium thick foamy tan head that diminishes gradually to a film. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast malt, chocolate and coffee. Full-bodied with a roasty malt and coffee character, with some cocoa and oaky vanilla in the background. The finish is sweet with a chocolate malt aftertaste. Good beer all around.

Draft pour at the Brouwer’s 11th anniversary. Jet black pour with a thin fizz tan head. Doughy chocolate aroma. Flavor is a bold chocolate, with a boozy heat follow through. Hints of dark fruit as well. Soft burn fruit finish. Overall a tasty imperial. Good beer here.

On tap at the brewpub. Cool find! Pours a jet black color with a small beige head. A huge nose of cocoa and sweet fruit essence. The flavor is big dark fruit, some cocoa, oily, medium to high heat, some motor oil. A huge dark fruit component. Maybe some ash.

On tap at Apex in Portland, split with Matts_Property, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, vanilla and slight licorice. Flavour of vanilla, licorice, liqueured / brandied fruits and roasted malt. Incredibly silky, syrupy palate with a super complex body. Absolutely delicious.
