Tap at Cascade, Portland - 07/11/12 @ 5.7% ABV. Very dark mahogony brown with a thin tan head that soon clears to the edges. Nose is light vegetal tones, roast malt, molasses, touch of coffee. Taste follows nose, roast malt flavour, hops, toffee. Medium bidued with light carbonation leading to a dry and roasty finish.

On tap at Cascade Tasting Room, split with Matts_Property, pours a dark brown with a pronounced red tinge and small tan head. Aroma of chocolate, fresh hops and roasted malt. Flavour is more muted, with chocolate, roasted malt and a slight hop presence - kind of watery and thin on the palate. Good.

Draught . Dark brown pour with lasting off white head. Hoppy aroma with a chocolate note. Roasty flavour with a hop ring. Hop finish. I admit I have never knowingly had a fresh hop porter before.
