1998 keg they pulled out at the brewery. I've only ever had a handful of beers this old. I was still in high school when this came out. Age seems to have done a lot of good things here. Smoothed all all the edges and left a solid barley wine. Lemon, tobacco, orange peel and a hint of vanilla. Some date, prune. Pours dark maroon with decent head. A little booze. Tap at brewery.

From tap at Brouwers. Pours hazy dark brown with a small white head. Aroma is overripe fruity, vanilla, dense caramel. Smooth toffee and vanilla flavoured. Subdued sweetness. Wooden and vanilla flavoured into a smooth medium dry finish.

On tap for Hard Liver '12, pours a murky dark orange with a small beige head. Aroma of bourbon barrels, toffee and caramel, dark dried fruits - the barrels are perfect on the nose. Flavour of vanilla, bourbon barrels, dark dried fruits with a slight sourness, and some toffee. Great mesh of flavours with great execution on the barrels. Excellent.
