On cask at Washington Brewers Cask Festival, pours black with a small beige head. Nose brings out light cocoa and a little lactose. Flavour is kind of bland for an impie stout, with light cocoa and not much else. Surprisingly muted for the style. Inoffensive but just missing some oomph.

Sample at the brewery tap room. The beer pours a dark brown-black color with a medium tan head that dissipates slowly. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of malt, chocolate and coffee. Medium-bodied with flavors of roasted coffee, dark chocolate and a touch of hops. The finish is roasty with a slightly bitter chocolate aftertaste. Pretty good overall.
