Cloudy amber color with creamy head. The base IPA is quite good and aggressive on the resins; so it doesnβt work very well when you add a lot of barrel, it becomes quite hard to drink. Strong bourbon or whiskey aroma, more than wine.
Messy.

On tap at Counterbalance, pours a hazy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out woody oak, but it smells more like whiskey than red wine, with subtler notes of biscuity malt and dry hopping. Flavour is very dry, with notes of subtle wood and bone dry biscuity malt. Hops are only present in embittering this, leaving a fairly high astringency. Not a fan.
