We’ve named our new brew after Jon Piper’s older cousin - ’Henry’ who plied his shipbuilding trade from his Cockle Creek shipyardyard (Daley’s Point) between 1844 and 1854. Our new English IPA delivers a robust malt punch with caramel malt added to the munich/pale malt base. This is followed up with generous kettle additions of two of the ‘best of British’ hops; ’Target’ and ’Challenger’. Unlike the fruity Americans, these hops possess more subtle, earthy-sweet tones. With further fermenter additions of the Challenger hops, the final result is a brew which balances hoppiness and sweetness with a bitterness that’s deep and quenching.
