On tap at Chuckanut, pours a red-tinged dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma brings out toasted malt and dusty dry cocoa. Flavour is similar, with medium roast, lots of toast, some dark fruits and light vegetal character. Pretty meaty palate for the style. Works well.

On Tap at the Bellingham brewery Rich very dark brown, nearly black. Lasting creamy light tan head and lacing, Smooth mild dark roast flavors with a few hints of coffee and campfire. Surprisingly refreshing is right, esp considering the style.
