On tap at Moody Ales, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is boozy, with heavy woody hops, roasted malt, and bitter dry cocoa. Flavour is abrasive, with lots of phenolic notes, harsh hopping, wood and roasted malt. I like the concept, but there isn't very good integration between the hops and roast. Like one of those brutal black IPAs. Not convincing.
