On tap at Figurehead, pours a hazy dark copper with a small white head. Aroma brings out toasted bready malt, with subtle English hopping and a little toasted caramel. Flavour is along the same lines, with toasted bready malt, vague English hopping and a touch of caramel. Dry finish, with the English malt pronounced. Meh.

Enjoyed on draft during the Figurehead grand opening weekend. Instantly impressed with these guys and the beer. This one in particular had a fun, unique story behind it. Copper orange like pour with a thin fizz head and sticky lacing. A caramel malt aroma with very little hop influence. I was unaware that an IPA could be pulled off so well without the use of hops during the boil. Here I sit enjoying a beer and being taught a thing or two as well. I love it. Flavor is malty, but very pleasant. Caramel, with a hop flavor to finish, with 0% of the bitterness that would usually go with it. So that’s what happens. Cool finish. Very nice introduction to Seattle’s 60th brewery. Congrats guys, and keep up the good work.
