Imperial Brown Ale
Icelandic explorer Leif Erikson landed his ship in North America around the year 1000 and named the first two places he visited Helluland and Markland. A year ago, our brewers made an extra special brew for our 1000th batch and filled up 50 bourbon barrels for future release.
The journey of that beer is now complete as we release two versions of this brew in tribute to one bad ass viking.
Markland variant: A bourbon barrel aged Imperial Brown Ale with vanilla and cocoa nibs.

On tap at The Beer Mongers, pours black with a medium tan head. Aroma brings out rich, heavy bourbon barrels upfront, followed by vanilla and caramel. Flavour is wonderfully rich, with loads of bourbon upfront, followed by vanilla and heaps of caramel. Very sweet, but not cloying. For this high an ABV, there is barely any heat. Really expertly constructed. Lovely.
