This NW style sour ale blends wheat & blond ales that were oak aged in barrels for 6 mths, then additionally aged 4 mths on fresh blueberries and cranberries. Huge herbal notes of dense blueberries in the nose give way to hints of oak & a dusty floral note. Rich earthy notes of dark fruit on the palate lead to a tart finish that dries out to a base note of blueberry skins.

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Murky orange color. Aroma of cranberry pie (seemingly cinnamon). Lean body, nice berry juice flavor, tart, a dash of cinnamon, and sour-astringent final. Biscuity.

On tap at St. Augustine during 1500 menu event. Shared with mcberko (thx, Matt!). Pours a golden-rose color with a slightly rose head. Aroma is bakery spices and cranberries. Taste is similar with lots of berries’ notes. Very refreshing and pleasant!

On tap at St. Augustine's, pours an opaque bright pinkish amber with a small beige head. Nose is very fresh and vibrant, with lots of cranberry upfront, followed by baker's spices (cinnamon especially), baked apples and a hint of blueberry. Flavour is similar, with lots of cranberries, cinnamon, maybe other spices, and a hint of blueberry. Not overly complex, but very fresh and fruity. Doesn't taste like a normal Cascade. But it's certainly good.
