Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Hazy blond color. Delicate malt aroma with elegant esters. Good body strength, rich pale malt flavor, with moderate sweetness, a touch of toffee, straws, correct bitterness, infinitesimal fruit touch.
Nothing Trappist, nothing Tripel, hardly Belgian. Just a very good, clean, rich Strong Ale.

Bottle at my place. Pours a bright orange color with a large white head. A big fruity sweet nose. Pepper, yeasty, lemons, light clove, sweet finish. Solid.

On tap at St. Augustine's, pours a clear copper blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of candied sugar, fruity esters and Belgian yeast. Flavour is along the same lines, with Belgian yeast, candied sugar and some pleasant fruity esters. Rather sweet, but not as bad as some North American tripels. Pleasant faux-tripel.
