On tap at Trve, pours a hazy amber orange with a small beige head. Aroma brings out dried raisins, dark fruits, and brown sugar. Flavour is surprisingly authentic, with dark fruits, raisins, brown sugar and Belgian yeast. Medium sweet, with a nice yeasty character. Really good use of the Belgian yeast. Very good. Great to see an authentic dubbel on this side of the Atlantic.

12 ounce at the brewery - Amber pour with a soapy head - nose and flavor are husky, unclean - raw sugars, toffee, moderate pepper, raisin, dark bread - watery texture - fair complexity, but the burnt grain husk character dominates.
