El Sobrante means the leftovers in Spanish. We made this beer with all of our leftover grains accumulated from the last year of brewing. We also added a bunch of cocoa nibs, vanilla beans, and toasted coconuts for a truly decadent beer.

On tap at Trap Door, pours black with a small light brown head. Aroma brings out lots of lactose, with a medium roasted malt body. Flavour is very sweet, being dominated by the milk sugars, and a backbone provided by medium roasted malt. It seems cloying at first, but seems appropriate with each additional sip. Very nicely done.
